Who's TonNet

If you are a regular at Education & Tech, you shall remember that I'd written a post almost everyday since 2003 and before, it even had different names such as Blog For Spanish Readers, BPLE, and so. You'd find posts in Spanish because that's how this blog started. Education & Tech covers tender questions of human living and rougher matters rotting the educators core.

Why your Technorati Rank Is Also Important

I am struggling to comprehend the policy of ranking in Technorati, but same as Google PR and Alexa that is something we, as bloggers or webmasters can control. This page was a very respectable suited in Technorati with a rank over 230, then it was degraded to 110 and as for now it's in 55. I don't remember doing nothing wrong as far as I had erased some blogs that I really liked but they didn't honor me with a fave back. Is it a good reason to be degraded that far?

Now, I do know Technorati doesn't rank you high if your content is not good enough and keep a fresh posting policy. I am working so hard in offer this quality standard posts but I would also like to boost my Technorati rank. "A good rank in Technorati also helps you more in selling links or banners in your blog. That also goes to sponsored reviews ordered from you. Not only more links/banners selling or reviews, but for more price" says Roseate and we do agree 100%. That's why every person who has a page or blog should be taking care of their traffic. Why is it worth to keep writing if nobody is going to read it, anyway?

So, please let's help each other to bring our rank up where it should be. And if you know what I did wrong to deserve such a treatment drop me a line.

My Technorati rank is not important. Particularly when it represents some simple manipulations of the connections between blogs, as described in your 'basic steps', rather than any inherent value, usefulness, or even popularity.

Rankings you have to campaign for are useless.

Thansk Mr. Downes. I do agree with you in terms of academic job. However, there are different kind of publishers online. Those who do it for the love of it and people who's looking for a show off or money. Is for these group that Technorati rank is important.

Myself at the beginning wasn't paying attention to it. Now, it's a bit different.

Technorati has recently revamped its ranking system, if you visit your technorati page and find the FAQ on "What is Authority" you will see that the smaller the number of your Technorati rank, the better it actually is.

Your Technorati rank is how far you are from #1. Smaller is better.
